No-code Backtesting and Strategy ValidationTrade on Evidence, not Hope
Pick your indicators. Set your conditions. Hit run. Simula turns your trading ideas into rigorously tested strategies without writing Python or learning a platform's scripting language. Built for traders, not programmers.
No credit card. Free tier, no time limit.

Every other backtesting tool asks you to learn a language.
Code-first platforms
expect you to write Python against their framework, prepare your own data, and keep the environment running. An afternoon per idea.
Charting platforms
each ask you to learn their own proprietary scripting language, and your strategy is trapped inside it. Walk-forward or Monte Carlo means community scripts or browser extensions on top.
No-code tools
mostly let you off the hook on syntax, but give you shallow analytics and assume your broker charges zero fees. You get a number; you cannot tell if it is real.
Everything a retail trader needs. Nothing that pretends to be magic.
Visual strategy builder
Pick indicators, choose operators, combine with AND/OR logic. No script. No formula bar. Stop loss, take profit, and trailing stop included.
124 indicators
63 standard indicators plus 61 candlestick patterns. Covers most indicators traders use.
Multi-asset
Forex, crypto, and US stocks. Candles down to 1 minute on forex, crypto, and the largest US stocks.
Validation and tuning built in
Monte Carlo and walk-forward to test a strategy, parameter optimization to tune it. No code, no browser extensions, no community scripts to install and trust.
Stress-test against bad luck
See what your strategy looks like in a bad run of the same trades, not just the one order they happened to come in. (Technically: Monte Carlo simulation.)
Test it on data it has never seen
Tune your strategy on old data, then check it on a period the strategy has never seen. The closest thing to a live trial without going live. (Technically: walk-forward analysis.)
Built so you can trust the number.
The most common complaint about backtests is that they look great and then fail live. Simula is built to keep the result honest.
No hindsight
By default, conditions are checked when a candle closes and trades fill at the next candle's open. Higher-timeframe conditions only see what was known at that moment, and an unfinished candle never counts.
Conservative fills
When a stop and a target are both hit inside one candle and the data cannot say which came first, Simula assumes the stop. A stop that gaps through fills at the open, not at your level.
Real-world costs
Add your commission, spread, and slippage (Standard tier and up) and the results show gross vs net return, with exactly what each cost took.
Every exit explained
In the trade log, each trade says why it closed -- your exit rule, a stop or target, the end of the trading day, or the end of the data.
No silent gaps
If a symbol's history covers less than the dates you picked, Simula tells you. A strategy that never trades shows N/A, not a misleading 0%.
Clean history
Stock prices are checked against every split, and a company that stops trading keeps its history here instead of vanishing from the data.
Two steps. No script. Nothing to install.
Build
Compose entry and exit conditions visually. Combine them with AND/OR. Add a stop loss, take profit, or trailing stops. Model your costs: commission, spread, and slippage. Save the strategy, and share any result by link.
Validate
Run a backtest. Stress it with Monte Carlo. Tune it with parameter optimization. Confirm it with walk-forward on data your strategy has never seen. All built in -- nothing to install.
Plain-English tools for the three questions every serious backtest raises.
Will this work when luck turns against me?
What traders call this: Monte Carlo simulation
A single backtest shows you one version of events -- the exact order the trades happened to come in. Simula reshuffles the order of your trades 1,000 times and plots every path they could have taken to the same result. You see your typical drawdown, your worst-case drawdown, and the odds of ruin. Switch to Resample mode to see how much the result depends on the particular trades you got.

Will it hold up on data it hasn't seen yet?
What traders call this: Walk-forward analysis
The easiest way to fool yourself with a backtest is to tune a strategy until it fits the historical data perfectly. Walk-forward splits history into rolling windows, tunes on each older window, then tests on the window right after. The resulting curve is the closest thing to a live trial -- without going live. Not offered by the no-code backtesting tools we compared, at any price; on charting platforms it means community scripts or a browser extension.

Which settings worked best -- and is the peak a fluke?
What traders call this: Parameter optimization
Instead of hand-tweaking moving-average lengths, stop-loss percentages, and threshold values one at a time, Simula sweeps up to 10,000 combinations in one run. An interactive heatmap shows whether the best result sits on a broad plateau of good settings or an isolated spike. Sortable results table, CSV export. It runs in the background, so you can keep backtesting while it works.

Three traders we built this for.
The no-code outgrown
"You are already backtesting on a no-code tool and hitting limits. Not enough indicators. Not enough data. Weak analytics on top."
Why Simula: 124 indicators, up to 250K candles per backtest -- over 8x the top plan of the leading no-code tool -- and Monte Carlo, walk-forward, and optimization on top.
The scripting refusenik
"You live on a charting platform, but you are done learning another proprietary language to test one idea."
Why Simula: No proprietary scripting language. Build visually, in minutes.
The lapsed Python backtester
"You tried an open-source Python framework or a code-first quant platform. You got results. It took an afternoon per idea and half your weekends."
Why Simula: Five minutes from idea to backtest. Walk-forward and optimization built in -- no code to write, no data to prepare, nothing to install.
Priced for the empty middle.
The $15-50/month range is sparse for standalone no-code web backtesting. Simula fills it.
